All four are teaching books. They came out of the same instinct as the talks: take something that looks closed to a newcomer and open it, without pretending the hard parts are not hard.
Two were written for McGraw Hill, one for Manning, and Cognitive Computing with IBM Watson was written for Packt with Rob High, then IBM Watson’s Chief Technology Officer.
If you are programming an event and want the writing in the room, the university format is usually the right shape: a talk plus a smaller hands-on session.
